Your responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms, instruments and medical equipment.
  • Prepare and care for patients before, during and after surgical procedures.
  • Assist with instruments and other tasks during surgery.
  • Pass instruments and materials to the surgical team during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sterility and safety standards.
  • Check and document the instruments and materials used.
  • Prepare for surgical procedures and carry out follow-up tasks.
  • Operate and check medical equipment in the operating room.
  • Work with doctors, anaesthesia professionals, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Depending on the facility, work in different surgical specialties, such as general surgery, orthopaedics, trauma surgery, gynaecology, urology, neurosurgery or cardiac surgery.

What we need from you:

  • A completed degree or qualification in surgical assistance.
  • Experience working in an operating room is an advantage, but is not essential.
  • German language skills at B1 level or higher.
  • Motivation to continue improving your German.
  • Willingness to meet the requirements for professional recognition as an operating theatre assistant (OTA) in Germany.
